2. Lamborghini Miura
Originally, Lamborghini started as a prestigious tractor manufacturer in Italy. However, after a disagreement between Ferruccio Lamborghini, the company's owner, and Enzo Ferrari, founder of Ferrari, Ferruccio decided to demonstrate how to build the fastest and most impressive car in the world.
Although the Miura was not the first vehicle produced by Lamborghini, it has stood out as one of the most significant in the brand's history for several reasons. In addition to its stunning design, which made it one of the most beautiful cars ever made, it was also the first mass-production supercar to have a mid-mounted engine, a feature previously reserved only for racing cars.

This model set a standard and influenced virtually all supercars of the modern era, as most adopted this engine configuration, which allows for better weight distribution between the axles, resulting in superior performance. For these reasons, the Miura holds a special place on our list of the best Italian cars.
1. Ferrari 250 GTO
The Ferrari 250 GTO stands out not only for its stunning beauty, but also for its rarity, being one of the most exclusive models ever produced by the emblematic Ferrari, with only 36 examples manufactured between 1962 and 1964.

Originally, the 250 GTO was developed to comply with FIA homologation standards, allowing it to participate in prestigious global competitions, such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the legendary Tour de France Motorsport, where it achieved victories on several occasions. The name GTO is an abbreviation for Gran Turismo Omologata, which in Italian means “Gran Turismo Homologated”.
After a period on the track, the model was adapted for road use. However, due to its relevance and exclusivity — with only a few vehicles surviving intact after competition — it has become a treasure in the collections of the world's greatest car enthusiasts.
One of these cars, the Ferrari 250 GTO with chassis number 4153GT, set a record when it sold for the highest price ever recorded for an automobile, acquired by David MacNeil for an impressive 70 million dollars (approximately 59 million euros).
